.Biography.

According to Sarutobi the Sandaime Hokage and Morino Ibiki, Orochimaru was already malicious and terrifying as a kid. He had a tendency for cruelty and a greed for power. After becoming a Genin, Orochimaru was sorted into the same team as Jiraiya and Tsunade and their sensei was none other than the Sandaime Hokage. All three kids were exceptionally talented, and were soon known as the Legendery Sannin["three people"]. All three were able to summon a certain animal clan to their aid. Orochimaru's were snakes.

Sandaime saw great potential in Orochimaru and praised him as his best student. It was without a doubt that he was a rare genius, but his personality was a threat. Sandaime believed he could remove these evil traits from him and kept him as his favorite, teaching him as much as possible and supporting him to become stronger.

Big mistake.

The evil in Orochimaru would not go away, instead it grew along with him. He became extremely strong along with his two teammates and took the young kunoichi Mitarashi Anko as his disciple. He had already developed a few kinjutsu[forbidden techniques] and taught these to Anko. She was also the first to live through his cursed seal. Apparently, Orochimaru didn't have too much use for Anko later on, or at least not much is known about their history yet.

Once it came time for Sandaime to retire, the Fourth Hokage had to be picked. Orochimaru believed he was the best for the job, but Sarutobi couldn't overlook his twisted ideals. Thus, Orochimaru lost the job for the one we now know as Yondaime Hokage. Infuriated, he changed his ambition to learning all the jutsus in the world. But there exist tens of thousands of jutsus, and it would be impossible for anyone to learn them all in one lifetime. This brought Orochimaru to the idea of an immortality spell, a jutsu that would keep his soul anchored to this world.

Soon people began talking about his even stranger behavior. During the same time, ninjas in ranks from Genin to ANBU members were mysteriously disappearing. Following clues and surviving a number of lethal traps, Sarutobi and a couple ANBU shinobi find their way to a dark, hidden laboratory in what appears to be Konoha's sewers. Inside they find Orochimaru, covered in blood amidst the dead bodies of the missing ninjas. Even though he had always suspected it, Sarutobi was shocked by the actions of his beloved student. Orochimaru explained that he had been developing the immortality spell and had been experimenting on the kidnapped ninjas. They tried to stop Orochimaru, but Sarutobi didn't have the heart to kill him, and he was able to escape Konoha. He encountered Jiraiya on his way, who tried to persuade him to come to his senses and return. But Orochimaru just laughed at him, shattering the little friendship the two had built up over the years. Jiraiya was also unable to stop him.

After his escape from the village of Konoha, Orochimaru joined a group of dangerous exiled ninjas called the Akatsuki["red moon"]. There's not much known about his time in the Akatsuki, except that he eventually left, apparantly due to Uchiha Itachi's worrisome powers. Of course, you leave Akatsuki with the same results as when fooling around with Orochimaru, so now he was a very wanted man.

Now he began travelling around different countries and looking for promising young ninjas. He ran into Kimimaro in the Hidden Village of Mist and to Yakushi Kabuto most likely in Konoha. He liked Kabuto's amazing ability to heal himself and Kimimaro's bloodline ability to alter his body's bones. His intentions were to gather many strong minions for a village of his own, so he could some day destroy Konoha and cause another war amongst the hidden villages. So, the Hidden Village of Sound was created.
